Permaculture and livestock consulting ยท Malaysia

Farms that feed themselves.

Gene Eu helps Malaysian farms move from one costly crop to living systems where animals, trees and crops work for each other. Ethical, tropical, and built to pay.

Who Gene is

A Malaysian farmer who learned abroad, and came home.

Gene Eu is a Malaysian permaculture and livestock consultant. After years farming in the United States, he came home in 2020 to adapt what he learned to Malaysia's heat, rain and soils.

He works with oil palm estates, fruit orchards, livestock farms, agro-tourism ventures and new farmers across Malaysia.

The problem

Most farms in Malaysia pay for everything.

01

Inputs keep rising.

Imported fertiliser and pesticide eat into every harvest.

02

One crop, one risk.

A single income stream leaves the farm exposed to prices and weather.

03

Hands are hard to find.

Labour is scarce and wages keep climbing.

Malaysian ground

Gene works with what already thrives here.

Durian, banana, ginger and bamboo grow beautifully in Malaysia's heat and rain. Gene's designs build on them, layering crops and animals beneath and between what the land already does well.

The approach

Every part of the farm doing a job.

Gene designs farms as systems. Poultry clear pests and fertilise under fruit trees. Goats or cattle manage undergrowth on estates. Shade crops like coffee, cocoa and vanilla grow beneath the canopy.

Each part does work that would otherwise cost money, and each can become a new source of income.

Proof, honestly

Ten years of proof in North Carolina.

Before advising anyone, Gene spent ten years restoring his own farm in North Carolina. Every animal had a job, the pasture recovered, and the fireflies came back.
